Our teaching experience at kinderdorf sos village

In our 3rd week we're going to different orphanage, it is tadaaaaaa SOS Village kinderdorf. although this orphanage is far from bandung (it's located near bosya, lembang :O ) but we still have fun. we met a new friends, lots of children, and they're sooooo excited to hear our story, story about EPs country, traditions, and background. even though most of them can't speak English fluently we can see them trying hard to get along with us and exchange participant. because we only have 2 days to taught them, so we only taught them about culture and diversity. The most interesting topic for them is diversity. one of the children said, "aku jadi tau ternyata banyak yang berbeda ya di dunia ini" which means i become knew that there is a lot of diversity in this world.
LOOK how serious they are watching our presentation

Happy National Children's Day Indonesia!!! :)

To celebrate this national children's day on July 23th, 2013 Tropical Orange Project AIESEC LC Bandung helped SOS Village to held a children campaign. We helped SOS Village to gave parents(adults) free balloon around Dago Street. We also put a message on those balloon it said "spend at least one hours of your time to play with your kids". We hope that by giving those balloon&message can make parents aware of how important their children are. as we know, nowadays some of parents in indonesia they are too busy with their work, they often abandon their children and simply give their obligation to take care of their children to baby sitter. But hey! that's not all of parents in Indonesia did that we're just doing this to reduce this kind of situation :p
see this picture our EPs is having fun while distributing balloons :)

Let's promote for children’s rights! Happy National Children's Day INDONESIA!! :)

Activity on 1st week

So what is our activity? teaching children is the main idea of this project, on the first week we went to selasar sunaryo to help our partner "sahabat kota". We saw some performance and artwork from the children. We also went to maratha boys orphanage and william booth orphanage to teach them. on the first week we held culture week. all of the EPs introduce theirself and also their country. After culture week we teach about basic english and relate it to culture, so children will realize how important is their culture is.
on the second week we held environment week and health week.

That's some picture of children that playing games of environment, well, after this games the children can feel the impactof it. They can differentiate between plastic, glass, and paper :)
